Picture one small thing left at the scene — a footprint, a receipt, a half-sentence. On its own it is almost nothing; its whole value is that it points somewhere. A clue is never the answer, only an arrow towards it.

可以想成：現場留下的一樣小東西——一個腳印、一張收據、半句話。它本身幾乎沒什麼份量，價值全在於「它指向某個地方」。clue 永遠不是答案，只是通往答案的一個箭頭。也因為如此，說一個人 hasn't got a clue，畫面比較像他手上連一個箭頭都沒有。
