    A band or a chain that you wear around your wrist, or higher up around your arm, because it looks nice. A bracelet can be made of gold, silver, beads, string, or almost anything.

    bracelet 是「戴在手腕或手臂上、繞成一圈的飾品」。中文分成兩個字——一條鏈子叫「手鍊」，一個圈圈叫「手環」——但英文不分，兩種都是 bracelet，金的、銀的、串珠的、用線編的也都算。這個字可以想成是從法文的「手臂」長出來的，所以它戴的位置固定在手：戴在腳踝上的那種不叫 bracelet，要說 anklet。
