This word has two everyday jobs. First, technology: analogue means using signals that change smoothly (like the hands on a clock, or an old radio dial), as opposed to digital, which uses numbers. Second, in general talk, an analogue is something similar to another thing, used to explain it by comparison - 'water flow is a good analogue for electric current.'
