Hold one picture: wool, the warm coat of a sheep, turned into cloth. Woollen points at that wool. Sometimes it points at the finished thing in your hands — a scarf, a pair of socks. Sometimes it points back along the line, at the mills and the trade that turn the wool into cloth in the first place. Same wool, different end of the line.
