Used to talk about a choice between two or more things, or about something you are not sure about.
是否
As a function word, whether has no picture of a thing — its core job is to lay two possibilities side by side and hold them both open: this one, or that one. Everything it does is some version of 'here are the two ways it could go'.
可以想成 whether 是個功能詞，它本身沒有具體畫面；它的核心任務是把「兩種可能」並排擺出來、兩邊都先不關上：是這樣、還是那樣。它做的每件事，都是某種版本的「事情可能往這兩邊走」。
