In unison means everyone doing or saying the same thing at exactly the same time. A class answering 'yes!' together, all at once, is answering in unison. In music, singing 'in unison' means everyone sings the exact same note or melody together — not different notes that blend (that would be 'harmony'), but literally the same sound from every voice.
