Relating to the suburbs — the quieter, more residential areas just outside a big city, usually with houses, yards, and less traffic and noise than downtown. It can describe a place ('a suburban neighborhood') or, a little critically, a certain safe, ordinary, unexciting lifestyle: 'a very suburban way of life.'
