Picture a wide road with the traffic sorted by speed. Down one side go the and the careful drivers, holding a steady pace; along the other side the faster cars slide past them, one after another. The car in the slow lane has not stopped, has not broken down, and has not turned off the road. It is going exactly where everyone else is going — it is just the one being overtaken. That is the picture inside slow lane, and both meanings of the word live in it.
