- 1單層公車／單層巴士
A single-decker is a bus with only one floor — the ordinary kind, with no up to a second level. The word is especially British. The opposite is a double-decker, the tall bus people picture in London. Though actually, in Taiwan almost every city bus is already one level, so you rarely need this word until you want to set it against a 雙層巴士 (the kind). Deck here means a floor or level, the same idea as the deck of a ship, stretched to buses.
