You can think of seated as something that has come down into its place and is resting there. A person lowers into a chair and stays; a part slides into its slot and holds; an idea settles into someone's mind and will not move. In every use the movement is over and the thing is where it now belongs.
「seated」可以想成「已經落進自己的位子，安在那裡了」。人坐進椅子，不再站著。零件推進插槽，卡住了。想法沉進心裡，拔不出來。三個畫面的共同點是：移動的動作已經結束，東西現在待在它該待的位置上。也因為講的是「結束後的狀態」，它是形容詞，要配 be；而「坐下去」那個動作則交給 sit down。
