Realistically is used to bring a conversation back down to what is actually likely or possible, instead of what people wish for. People often start a sentence with it to be honest about limits — 'realistically, we won't finish by Friday' means: let's stop hoping and look at the real situation. It can also describe how something is shown or done — drawn or acted in a way that looks true to life.
