Radicalism is the thinking — or the movement — of people who want new and different ideas taken all the way, especially complete social and political change. It is not a small fix. It wants the roots of the system changed. It can sit on the left or the right; the point is how far people want to go. Newspapers and history books use the word a lot. Among people who want change it can sound like a badge; among people who fear change it can sound like a warning. In daily talk, many people just say someone is radical.
