The work of writing the instructions that tell a computer what to do, or the instructions themselves after a programmer has written them.

A useful picture: laying out ahead of time, item by item and in order, what is going to happen — and then letting it run. Whether the list is instructions a computer will follow or shows a station will broadcast, programming is the work of writing that ordered plan.
可以想成一件事：事先把接下來要發生的內容一項一項、照順序排好，然後讓它照排好的跑。排的東西可能是電腦要執行的指令，也可能是電視台今晚要播的節目——共同的畫面都是「一張事先寫好的順序表」，而 programming 就是做這張表的工作，或這張表本身的內容。
