Postgraduate describes study that happens after you finish your first university degree (a bachelor's degree). A postgraduate student — sometimes just called a "postgrad" — is working on a master's degree or a PhD. You'll see it as an adjective ("postgraduate studies," "a postgraduate course") or, less formally, as a noun for the student.
