In a way that gives pleasure, enjoyment, or satisfaction. “The soup is pleasingly hot” — you like how hot it is; it hits the right point. It is a fairly formal adverb. In everyday talk people more often say “nicely,” “rather,” or just rebuild the sentence (“it’s nice and simple”). It does not mean “please” as a polite request.
