Pharma is a short business word for the pharmaceutical industry — the companies that invent, make, and sell medicines. You hear it in money news and office talk: the pharma market, a pharma firm, Big Pharma (a pointed name for the largest companies). It is informal but standard in that world. It is not the shop where you buy pills (that is a pharmacy / chemist), and it is not one medicine. People in Taiwan business Chinese often keep the English word as-is, mixed into a sentence. It sounds cool and quick; in a careful school essay, pharmaceutical industry is clearer.
