An outdoorsy person likes life outside: walking in the hills, camping, riding a bike, sitting in a park for hours. The word is friendly and informal, and it talks about who someone is, not where they are standing right now. You can also use it about a look or about clothes — an outdoorsy jacket — meaning they feel like hiking and fresh air, even if the person is on a bus. Though actually, calling someone outdoorsy is a bit of a cartoon: many “outdoorsy” people also love a sofa. Shops and magazines use it a lot.
