    Used to talk about a thing or things that belong to us or are connected with us, when the thing has already been said or is clear.

    That classroom is yours, and ours is next door.

    逐字那間教室是你們的，而我們的在隔壁。

    「ours」是「我們的那個／那些」，重點是它自己就站得住，後面不再接名詞：our room 要接 room，ours 已經把 room 包在裡面了（Ours is next door. = Our room is next door.）。可以想成 our + 名詞被壓成一個字，所以再加名詞就重複了。它跟著它代表的東西變單複數：一間房間用 Ours is…，很多顆腦袋用 ours are…。另外有個常見說法 a friend of ours（我們的一個朋友），這裡也是用 ours，不用 our。
