Picture a bicycle that has been given an engine: still two wheels in a line, still a seat you sit astride and you steer with, but now the power comes from a motor between your knees instead of from your legs. You lean it into corners, you feel the road and the wind, and it can run as fast as a car. The word says exactly what it shows — motor plus cycle, a two-wheeler with an engine — and that single picture is the whole of it.
