Here morocco is not the country. It is a fine, soft leather, especially the kind used to cover books (a morocco binding, red morocco). The name comes from Morocco, and further back from the old name of Marrakech, once used for that whole western region. Though actually, a book bound in morocco today may never have seen Morocco; the word now names the material and the look. In this sense English usually a small m, to keep it apart from the country.
