Met is simply the past form of meet. You can picture two paths coming together at a point — two people, or a person and an experience, arriving at the same spot. 'Met' just puts that coming-together in the past: it already happened.

met 就是 meet 的過去式。可以想成兩條路在某一點交會——兩個人，或一個人和一段經歷，走到了同一個地方碰上了。met 只是把這個「交會」放進過去：它已經發生過了。例如 We met last year（我們去年認識的）。
