Meretriciousness is the name for that false shine itself — the quality of looking attractive while having little real value, or of not being based on the truth. You use it when you want a noun, not an adjective: not “a show”, but “the meretriciousness of the show”. It is even more formal and than , and rather ; it belongs in essays and reviews, not in everyday talk. The meaning is the same empty glitter; only the grammar has changed.
