Low-end describes products or services that cost less and are usually of lower quality than others of the same kind. A low-end phone is the cheap one in the shop, not the best, most expensive model. Shops and reviews use it a lot. It is not a warm word, but it is not always an insult: some people want the low-end one because it is good enough and they do not want to pay more. The opposite idea is high-end. People also stretch it to work and markets: low-end jobs, the low-end of the market. It is about the cheap side of a range, not about a person being “low.”
