    liar 是從動詞 lie（說謊）長出來的「人」，重點全在 deliberately 這個字：你知道真相，卻故意講別的。所以記錯、講錯不算 liar，那只是 make a mistake。另外有個地方很容易誤讀：英文說 a good liar / a terrible liar，good 和 terrible 評的是「說謊的技術」，不是人品——a terrible liar 是「一說謊就被看穿」，不是「壞透了的騙子」。這個字在英文裡分量很重，當面說 You are a liar 幾乎等於翻臉，所以最常聽到的反而是被指控的人反問 Are you calling me a liar?

Someone who knows what is true and chooses to say something else. The word does not point at a wrong sentence — it points at a person, and names them for what they did on purpose.

可以想成：一個人心裡清楚事情是怎樣，卻挑了另一套說出來。關鍵不在那句話剛好講錯，而在他知道、還是那樣講。所以 liar 這個字不是在描述一句話，而是貼在「人」身上的稱呼——說出口就是當面指控對方存心騙人，份量比中文的「你搞錯了」重得多。
