  1. 1官司（正式說法：訴訟）

    A lawsuit is a fight you take to a court and ask a judge to settle — often about money, a contract, or someone getting hurt. You file a lawsuit against a person or a company. It is usually a civil case (two sides arguing), not the police charging someone with a crime; though actually, everyday speakers sometimes say “lawsuit” for any court fight. You bring or file a lawsuit; you do not “do a lawsuit,” and almost nobody uses it as a verb — the verb people really use is sue. The word is common in news. At home in Taiwan people say they are 打官司. It is a plain, slightly formal noun, not slang.
