Laminated describes something made by sticking thin layers together, usually to make it stronger or more protective. A laminated ID card or menu is covered in a thin layer of clear plastic so it doesn't get wet or torn easily. Laminated wood or glass is built from several thin layers glued together, which makes it stronger than a single thick piece.
