    「kneel」講的是把膝蓋放到地上、身體靠在膝蓋上，而且同時包含「跪下去的動作」和「已經跪著的狀態」兩種，所以 She knelt down（跪了下去）和 She knelt there for hours（跪在那裡好幾個小時）都對。可以想成它就是從 knee（膝蓋）長出來的動詞——身體的重量交給膝蓋。跟 squat（蹲：腳掌著地、膝蓋彎起來）、sit（坐：屁股著地）的差別，就在身體是哪個部位碰到地面。
