A juncture is a particular point in a stretch of time or in something you are doing — often an important one, when things could go one way or another. “At this juncture” means “at this point, while things stand like this.” You hear it in news, speeches, and careful writing, not much in easy chat. Though actually the oldest meaning is a physical join, the same family as junction; specialists still use that, but most people only meet the time meaning. It does not mean a road meeting.
