    Something inoffensive is unlikely to make people angry, hurt, or uncomfortable. An inoffensive joke does not pick on anyone; an inoffensive comment is safe to say in a mixed group. It is the opposite of offensive. Though actually, calling a person inoffensive is not always kind praise. It can mean they do not upset anyone — and also that they do not stand out, or that they are a little dull. The word is common in polite, careful English.
