    Iconic describes something so famous and recognizable that it has become a symbol of a whole era, place, or idea — like the Eiffel Tower is an iconic symbol of Paris, or a certain song is iconic for a whole decade of music. It's a strong word, so save it for things that are truly famous and instantly recognizable, not just things you personally like a lot.
