    housework 可以想成 house（房子）+ work（工作）——就是「家這個地方本身要做的活」：掃地、拖地、洗碗、洗衣服、整理房間，全部一起算成一件事。它是不可數名詞，不加 s，也搭配單數動詞（All the housework was done.），前面最常配的動詞是 do：do the housework。要跟 homework 分開記：homework 是老師出的功課，housework 是家裡的活。
