Something high-priced costs a lot of money. High here means “a lot,” and priced means “having a price.” It usually sits in front of a noun: high-priced tickets, a high-priced lawyer, high-priced real estate. Shops, ads, and news like it; in everyday talk people more often just say expensive. It can carry a slight edge — that the cost is heavier than you might want — but it is kinder than , which says the price is unfair. You would not usually call a person high-priced unless you mean their fees. It is about money only, not about quality, fame, or a tall building.
