One way to hold it: lift the cover and there is a much bigger motor inside than you expected. That is all the word says — this one carries more power than the ordinary version, and you will feel the difference the moment it is switched on. English then lets that motor sit inside three kinds of thing: a machine, a person's position, or the way a piece of work is done. The -ed on the end is the kind in pointed or talented; it means fitted with, not a past tense.
