To make something or someone seem more wonderful, grand, or important than it really is, by praising it a lot — sometimes too much. It can be a warm, positive word (to glorify God, to glorify a hero), or a critical one (people say a movie "glorifies violence" when it shows violence as or good, which some people think is harmful).
