Draw a line across a map. On one side is your group; on the other side is whatever you are up against. The front line is the edge where the two actually touch. It is the first place anything reaches you, and the last place you can stand before it does. People behind the line hear about things later and more gently. People on the line get them first, unfiltered, and cannot step back.
可以想成在地圖上畫一條線。線的一邊是自己人，另一邊是要面對的那一方。front line 就是兩邊真正碰到的那條邊。事情從那裡先進來，也在那裡先被擋住。線後面的人晚一點才知道，而且知道的是整理過的版本。線上的人第一個碰到，碰到的是原本的樣子，而且退不了。
