One picture holds all of these: a thick soft layer under a skin. Press the pad at the base of your thumb and it gives way. Cut open an aloe leaf and the inside is the same kind of soft and full. Fleshy says that layer is there, and that there is plenty of it.

Recorded as Middle English fleisshy, equivalent to flesh + -y. The suffix does two jobs that both fit the picture: having a lot of it, and being like it.
