    Feces is the American spelling of : the solid waste that comes out of the body through the . Hospitals, science, and school biology use this word; everyday talk uses poop, poo, or the politer stool. It is a clinical, slightly stiff noun. Latin faecēs meant “dregs” and was a plural, so some careful writers still say feces are; many American writers treat it as a mass of stuff (feces is). You do not need a special plural in ordinary English, and you cannot normally say one fece. The describing word that goes in front of another noun is (American) or (British).
