You can picture entire as something whole and untouched — nothing off, nothing missing. It comes from Latin 'integer', 'whole, untouched', the same root as 'integrity': you point at the thing and mean the complete shape of it, every part included.

From Latin 'integer', 'whole, complete, untouched' (in- 'not' + tangere 'to touch') — the same root as 'integrity'. Entire means the thing in its untouched, complete whole.
