An embodiment is a person or a thing that is so full of a quality that they almost are that quality in real form. We say the embodiment of kindness, the embodiment of calm, the embodiment of a new style. It is not a tool or a body part; it is the idea made visible. People use this in writing, speeches, and careful talk. Though actually it praises or points more than it measures: calling someone “the embodiment of patience” is a strong, slightly grand way to say they show that quality more clearly than anyone around them. The verb behind it is — to give an idea a body.
