An earthworm is a common worm that lives in the soil. It is long and thin, usually brown or pinkish-brown, with a soft body and no legs. It pulls dead leaves and soil through itself and leaves behind small heaps that feed plants; are glad to see many of them. After rain they come up onto paths.
