English donor comes through Anglo-Norman donour / Old French doneur from Latin donare 'to give (as a gift)', built on donum 'a gift' — so the word literally names 'the one who gifts', which is exactly the modern picture.
這個字從中古英文 donoure 經古法文 doneur 一路上溯到拉丁文 donare（贈與），字根 donum 就是「禮物」。所以 donor 字面上就是「送禮物的那個人」——現代的用法其實一直沒離開這個畫面：無論給的是錢還是血，關鍵都是「當作禮物送出去」，不是賣、不是換。
