To disrobe is to take your clothes off. It is a formal, slightly old or ceremonial word. Doctors may ask a patient to disrobe; actors disrobe between scenes; in stories, someone disrobes before a bath or a ritual. Ordinary English is get undressed or take off your clothes. Though actually, disrobe usually means the whole change — robe or clothes coming off — not one sock. It is not a crude word; it is a dressy word for a private act, which is why it can sound either medical or a little theatrical.
