Destructiveness is the quality of causing damage — how destructive a person, a storm, a weapon, or a feeling is. We talk about the destructiveness of a war, or of jealousy, when we mean the power or the habit of harming, not one single smash. It is a fairly formal noun. Though actually, it is easy to mix this up with destruction: destruction is the event (the building is gone); destructiveness is the tendency or the scale of the harm.
