(1) A special food that people enjoy as a treat, often rare or expensive — what counts as a delicacy is different in each country (for example, is a delicacy to some people, and so is , a kind of fish egg). (2) The quality of being delicate — handling something gently and carefully, especially a topic that could easily upset or someone, like money problems or a breakup. 'Handle it with delicacy' means 'be gentle and careful with it.'
