A debtor is anyone who owes money — a person, a shop, a company, even a country. In law and in banks, debtor is the clean opposite of creditor, the one who is owed. You will see it on forms, in court, and in news about unpaid bills. In everyday talk, people more often say he owes me money. Debtor is the official label. It does not mean the person is bad or dishonest; it only names the side of the deal that has not paid yet. A debtor can be careful and still behind.
