Curtailment is the noun: the act of reducing or limiting something, or the result of that cut. You might read about the curtailment of a service, of working hours, or of someone’s freedom. It names the cut itself, not the thing being cut. Like curtail, it lives mostly in news, law, and official writing. Everyday speakers more often say a cut, a reduction, or a limit.
