Picture a blanket spread over an area: how much it reaches and covers. 'Coverage' is the noun for 'how much ground something covers' — and different things do the covering: a report covers a topic, insurance covers a risk, a signal covers a region.

可以想成一張毯子鋪開來蓋住一塊範圍——重點在於「蓋到多少、罩住哪些」。coverage 就是動詞 cover（覆蓋）變成的名詞：某樣東西「能罩住、涵蓋到的範圍」。至於是誰在罩——新聞罩住一個主題、保險罩住一種風險、訊號罩住一塊地區——畫面是同一張毯子，只是蓋的對象不同。

Simply 'cover' + the noun suffix '-age' (which forms nouns of amount/extent, as in 'mileage', 'acreage'). So 'coverage' literally = the amount/extent of covering.

其實就是 cover（覆蓋）加上名詞字尾 -age；-age 常表示「數量／範圍」（如 mileage 里程、acreage 面積）。所以 coverage 字面可以想成「覆蓋的量、覆蓋的範圍」——核心畫面正好對得上：蓋到多大一片。
