A churchgoer is someone who goes to church regularly — not once at Christmas or for a wedding, but as a habit, week after week. They are ordinary people in the seats, not priests. The word is neutral and widely used; it does not tell you which kind of church, only that attending is part of that person’s life. You can also speak of churchgoing people. A person who believes but almost never attends is not, in ordinary talk, a churchgoer.
