Chock-full means completely full — full right to the top, with no room left. We usually say chock-full of something: a bag chock-full of apples, a speech chock-full of jokes. It is a little colourful, more at home in stories and talk than in a science paper. American English likes this wording; British English uses it too, alongside chock-a-block, which is close in meaning. Some people think it started as choke-full (full enough to choke you); others tie it to chock, a block in tight. Either way, students only need the meaning: packed completely.
