Chillingly is how you say that something is done in a chilling way: it you because it is cruel, violent, or strangely calm about danger. He smiled chillingly. The numbers were chillingly clear. The adverb often sits in front of an adjective (chillingly cold, chillingly calm) to show that the manner, not just the fact, is what scares you. Same serious feel as chilling; not a joke word.
